SPECIAL APON ZOOM MEETING TODAY TO FIGHT FORECLOSURE RULES

American Property Owners Network (APON) is a new nationwide 501C4 organization — less than 1 year old — whose mission is to unite homeowners and property owners in seeking and pursuing more successful strategies to combat illegal foreclosures (often called “fraudclosures”).

APON PRESS RELEASE

You can learn more about us by visiting our website at apropertyownersnetwork.org, and by attending our special membership and board meeting tonight (Wednesday, May 26th) at 8:30 pm EST. You can either dial in or connect via computer for video.

We are in the process of creating a formal resolution to engage a legal team led by Neil Garfield to file a Petition that seeks to change the rules governing how courts determine if a foreclosure plaintiff has stated a legitimate claim.

This strategy shifts the presumptions away from foreclosure mills who seek foreclosures without a creditor. (SEE NEIL’S ARTICLE FROM TODAY). If we are successful, we will greatly reduce the number of people who must face foreclosure and eviction. In the face of the tidal wave of foreclosures which the pandemic threatens to initiate, this is hugely important.

We are seeking to organize fund raising and public relations. And we are actively seeking alliances with similar organizations. Our special relationship with Neil Garfield gives us great confidence that we will get traction with this strategy, but as Neil constantly reminds us, there is no guarantee of success. We believe that the effort alone will give us media coverage that highlights the problems faced by homeowners — especially those who have no creditor but are still dunned by companies claiming to be servicers for a creditor.

Until June 1st, membership in our organization is free—and membership will always be open to homeowners, former homeowners, lawyers, ex-lawyers and anyone else who supports property rights in America. If you join today, we will send you a link to our special meeting, which starts tonight at 8:30 pm EST. We have already invited all of our new members to this special board meeting to discuss the rule-changes our petition to the Florida Supreme Court is calling for, litigation which will not only help change court rules across the country, but also eventually be followed by additional mass actions of groups of homeowners against individual foreclosure players.

We will include a time at this meeting for homeowners and former homeowners to share and give one another support and encouragement. One of our board members, Leo Blas, who has managed to stave off foreclosure for many years, will be on hand to tell his amazing story as well.

Please come to our special membership and board meeting via Zoom today, this Wednesday, May 26th at 8:30 pm EST. You will receive a link after you sign up to be a member by filling out the short membership form at the bottom of our homepage at http://www.apropertyownersnetwork.org/

  1. Anon: I’ve been communicating with one of the key people and think this organization may have some meat on its bones . . . let’s hope something finally ‘takes’ and we have a ‘home’ to park our issues at last! Good talking with you last month – hope all is well!

  2. I did not see either. Sounds like a great idea.

  3. Sorry I didn’t see this yesterday – would have participated – keep bugging us though . . . we’ll get it together yet!!
