Time Magazine puts a lot of work and analysis into their choice of “person of the Year.” Sometimes I agree with them, sometimes not. This time I think they nailed it. They chose “The Protester”. And their reasons are clearly expressed: nothing has impacted American society and politics more than the the protest movement as a whole.

People are not just unhappy, they are enraged, and it is that anger that was tapped by these movements that drew support across party and ideological lines. One of the things people agree on regardless of their philosophy or party is that the Banks created this mess and the Government has failed to hold them to account. Another is that we MUST get money out of politics. It is what John Dean, White House Counsel, described to President Nixon about the Watergate cover-up — a cancer that keeps growing and is engulfing the entire system.

Beyond that, people are angry because they know they can’t believe what they are told by their elected officials or what is reported in the press. They know the Banks are controlling nearly everything. Behind every rock of discontent there is some sort of exotic bank financing involved which ultimate leverages off the the taxpayer funds that Federal, State and local governments hold.

My hope and ream is that “the Protester” will keep up the good work and force the changes that our government, as currently constituted, is empowered and obligated to make under our Constitution. My advice is to go read the constitution. It is short, but to the point. Take a close look at the Bill of Rights which “guaranteed” that what is happening in foreclosures, credit cards and student loans, could never happen. That is the ultimate law — those items expressly enumerated in our our Constitution. We either follow it or we are not the Republic that we thought we were. And if we fail to “keep it” as Benjamin Franklin said, it is our own fault.

  2. only Governments should be able to create money or credit out of nothing,,,,,,,,,,,,,not private banks or public company banks…………only Governments………….and thus you would have free people———why have we given this power to banks? So they can collect interest on nothing created?

  3. Here you go Neil———–as you wrote above——–

“One of the things people agree on regardless of their philosophy or party is that the Banks created this mess and the Government has failed to hold them to account. Another is that we MUST get money out of politics.”

    —————–

AND IF YOU AND THE PEOPLE WOULD FINALLY COME TO REALIZE THAT the banks created this mess AND the GOVERNMENT HAS FAILED TO HOLD THEM TO ACCOUNT,

well, if the banks were actually under government control, as in Nationalize them, meaning the Government REALLY controls & governs them there banks, and thus the issuance of money as credit…………why problem solved………as all interest for issueing credit or money goes back to the Government to fund it and thus no taxes would need to be levied…………on the people……….and any corruption in the issuance of money or credit is immediately found out………..but of course then lots of jobs would be lost, like accountants, since it would be simple, and tax companies like turbo tax, and lawyers…………..but what would happen,,,,,,,,,,why we could really be free to create and expand, and do new things…….but those in power do not want this,,,,,,,,,,,as they could not control us………..to debt slavery………there is good debt and there is bad debt…………………..

    good debt is to expand

bad debt is consumer debt where no return of leverage is possible but just debt slavery to line the pockets of those that give credit or debt…………..

  4. We are slowly seeing our basic freedoms destroyed. A case in point, a friend finally got a job after two years of unemployment. During the interview, he discovered his Fl. Driver license was expired.
He tried to get it reinstated, but they insisted on a birth certificate, in
spite of being an air force veteran and licensed for 20+ years.
He sent away for the birth certificate and went to work. Two weeks
later, the employer decided to hold up his pay check because he had
not yet been able to renew his driver license. The job is a desk job
    that does not involve driving.
Another friend was approved for food stamps in June 2011 but
JP Morgan Chase keeps sending her an access card with no money
in the account. They tell her the money is in another account but refuse to send her the correct card so she can access it.
I wonder how many other unemployed Americans have to put up
with crap like this? Send in your storyies. Make others aware of how
screwed up this system really is.
